Lip conditions/exfoliating how-to

My most recent video is a quickie about how to exfoliate and condition your lips. There are two primary reasons for this: to achieve kissable, soft lips. And to prep your lips for any kind of lip color (lipstick, stain, etc), in order to achieve a smooth, flawless appearance. Cracked and flaky lips are not only not the best for kissing, but they will also make your lip color look cracked, flaky, uneven, and overall icky. So follow these simple instructions and soon you'll have an awesome pair. Of lips, that is. :P

There are two different methods. The first is the one that seems to exfoliate the best.

Method 1: For this, you'll need a toothbrush (any kind will do) and some petroleum jelly. Dab some of the jelly onto your lips and rub over the surface. Wet the tooth brush and then use it to buff (in circular motions) your lips, focusing on troublesome areas.

Method 1: This is the easiest and you already have what you'll need, which is a small wash cloth or hand towel. Wet a small section on the corner of the towel. If you would like to apply some petroleum jelly, feel free, but you don't have to. Use the wet section of the towel to scrub, thereby exfoliate, your lips, focusing on extra dry areas.

Final Step: No matter which method you choose to use, this final step is essential! Choose a good quality conditioning and hydrating lip balm and apply generously. Some of my favorites that I highly recommend are EOS, Carmex, Chap-Ice (carmex dupe), and Burt's Bees original balm. I also recommend Hot Topic's "Save the Arts" lip balm. You can get these at the check out when you donate a dollar to the program, which helps keep music and art programs in school. So it's also for a great cause.

Lastly, just to include it because I put it the video, I have a bark about Burt's Bees lip balm with pomegranate oil. And if you're not familiar with that term, what is mean is "complaint". My sister, on impulse, decided to buy this at the check-out at Wal-mart. She tried it, and didn't like it. So I decided to give it a go. Unfortunately, it's not a good product. I like the original variety, but this one doesn't go on well (lots of drag, doesn't glide on smoothly), doesn't feel smooth, and doesn't feel like it's hydrating my lips. Which is sad, because I really love the brand.

Thanks for watching/reading, check back soon!
